Academic Mentor Team

The Academic Mentor Team was created by students and is one of the first-year programs provided by the Dean of First-Year Students and Academic Services.  The AMT dedicates itself to supporting and guiding Loyola's first-year students through their academic journey at Loyola College.  We serve as a resource not only to our individual students but to the freshman class as a whole in an attempt to foster community and well-being on our campus.

Mentors are sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are dedicated to supporting and guiding Loyola's first-year students.  Mentors are paired with mentees in September and meet with their mentee several times throughout the semester and academic year.  Mentors help students in regards to picking a major, academic success, working with professors, and a variety of other academic issues.  Think of a mentor as a peer advisor.

For more information on how to become a mentor or receive a mentor, please contact Ms. Shannon Woods of the Academic Advising and Support Center.
