2012 Summer Transfer Course Request Requirements: • All transfer courses require the prior written permission of the Academic Advising and Support Center (AASC) and the respective Department Chair. • Only 2 transfer courses may be taken in any given summer. Residency Requirement applies. • A grade of C or better is required of all transfer courses, including labs. Courses and labs with grades of C- or lower will not transfer. • Transfer courses must be a minimum of 3 credits (semester hours), unless the course is a lab associated with a course. • Summer transfer courses cannot overlap with the Loyola academic term during which the student is enrolled. • Distance learning, on-line, hybrid, correspondence, j-term, winterim, and mini-mester courses are not permitted for transfer. • An official transcript from the transfer school must be requested by the student upon completion of the course in order to award transfer credit.
Send transcripts directly to: Academic Advising and Support Center Mrs. Maria Schwartz Maryland Hall 043 Loyola University Maryland 4501 N. Charles Street Baltimore, MD 21210-2699 Instructions: • Submit only your top 2 choices. • All course requests will be reviewed, including Core courses. See table below for additional information. • Course descriptions are required for reviews. • Fall 2012 courses: You must have a summer away request in process with AASC prior to your registration day if you are intending to register for a Fall 2012 course and you are completing the prerequisite to that Fall course at another college or university this summer. On your assigned registration day/time, first register for all courses possible in WebAdvisor, then come to AASC in Maryland Hall 043 to register for that Fall course for which you are taking the prerequisite this summer. WebAdvisor will not permit you to register for a course if you have not completed the prerequisite. Study Abroad students: Submit the summer away form and then inform your program coordinator that you are taking a summer away course as a prerequisite to a Fall 2012 course. The program coordinator will then need to register you for that Fall 2012 course. • Requests will be processed in the order that they are received. • AASC will review your form. Your academic status, residency, and the transfer's school accreditation will be verified. If the course is approved, AASC will send an approval letter to your Loyola e-mail address. If the course is denied, AASC will notify you at your Loyola e-mail address, and you may submit another course for consideration. • If you went abroad on a non-Loyola program, it may be that you cannot transfer any more courses due to Loyola's Residency Requirement. Please check with AASC. • Students who wish to take summer courses outside of the United States must see Patrick Frazier, Office of International Programs, Humanities 132, psfrazier@loyola.edu. Please do not use this form for summer abroad requests. • Please allow at least 2 weeks for your request to be processed. ·
