Members in the United States, Canada, Mexico, most
of Western Europe, India, and Japan may now pay membership dues
and gifts using a credit card via the web-based money transfer service
PayPal. To pay for your AWSS membership using PayPal, please
follow these instructions.
- Go to PayPal.
- If you are not a member of PayPal, you will have
to sign up before you can use the service. This will include
either using a credit card on the web, or registering a bank account. To
sign up, click on Sign Up for your FREE PayPal account! Follow
the instructions to sign up and activate your account. NB
-- if you would like the AWSS to get a $5 bonus (this will cost
you nothing) type "slsmith@umn.edu" where it asks for
the email of who referred you. (Please note that the second
letter is "L," not the number "1").
- Once you have activated your membership, from the
main PayPal page, click on Send Money. In the space
for Recipient's Email type "slsmith@umn.edu"
(please note that the second letter is "L," not the
number "1"). In the space for Amount, put
in your TOTAL from the membership form. In the space for
Type, select "service." In Subject,
put in "AWSS Payment." In Note, please put
your name, and any message that you have regarding this payment.
- On the next page, verify your payment details. At
the bottom of the page, under Shipping Information, you
can choose "No shipping address required" - however,
if there is a change of address on your membership form, you may
wish to choose "ship to" and type in your new address. Click
on Send Money. you will receive an email notification about
the payment.
- After you have made the electronic payment,
you must still fill out the membership form and return it to Susannah
Smith (3200 46th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55406) or send
all the information requested on the form to Susannah via email
at smith@hist.umn.edu. Without
the information on this form, we cannot process your membership
information.
PLEASE NOTE: The e-mail address "slsmith@umn.edu"
is being used exclusively for AWSS activity. All funds posted
to the "slsmith@umn.edu" address will go exclusively to
the Association for the Women in Slavic Studies. When you are
logged on to PayPal, please do not use Susannah's personal email
address, "smith@hist.umn.edu," because this will result
in funds being posted to Susannah's account and not to the AWSS.
