The Beta Gamma Sigma Central Office has named the Loyola University Maryland Chapter a Premier Chapter for achieving 85% membership acceptance during the 2008-2009 academic year. The Chapter will compete with other Premier Chapters for Outstanding Chapter at the Bronze, Silver or Gold level. Beta Gamma Sigma is a national organization founded in 1913. This business honor society takes the leading role in recognizing scholarship among students of business and management. Beta Gamma Sigma chapters are placed only at those universities and colleges which have their business programs accredited by the AACSB. The students elected to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma are recognized with the highest national honor that a student at an AACSB accredited institution can attain. In a sense, they are “the best in business.” This membership recognizes the students’ academic achievement and promise in becoming outstanding business leaders in the future. Each student who accepts membership in Beta Gamma Sigma becomes a life member of the society and joins over 40,000 other individuals who have earned and accepted this honor. Role of Loyola University Maryland Chapter Our role here at Loyola University Maryland is to promote Beta Gamma Sigma, its purposes and the standards of academic excellence it represents throughout both the Sellinger School of Business and the entire institution. |
