Description:

  • Technology Services must address concerns as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) rises in strategic importance
  • Review current ERP implementation, understand its shortcomings, thoroughly review the alternatives, and propose the most effective solution.

Value and Organizational Implications:

  • Analyzing alternative approaches will ensure ERP is interoperable with deployed systems
  • This initiative will develop increased efficiencies, technical tools to enhance effectiveness, and analytical capacity

Risks:

  • The ERP system integrates many campus systems and is used by much of the staff, any changes to it will be significant
  • If not executed effectively, higher education ERP implementations can result in millions of dollars overspent.
