| WELCOME! For more than 20 years, the professional staff of the Columbia Speech and Language Center has been serving individuals with a variety of communication needs. We pride ourselves on our connection to the community and to the families with whom we work. Parent training and collaboration are an integral part of the treatment approach and family members are encouraged to observe all sessions. As part of the department of Speech Pathology’s clinical training program, students have the opportunity to treat individuals ranging in age from infants through adults. The center is comprised of individual and group treatment suites, a voice lab and a sensory motor room. The Center for Excellence for Individuals with Down Syndrome is housed within the Columbia facility and provides quality treatment as well as serving as a research facility.
