Consortium for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Training Clinics (CIMTC)

The Consortium for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Training Clinics (CIMTC) is an organization composed of delegates from university-based training clinics that operate in a multidisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary framework.  Delegates include clinic directors and faculty from a wide range of clinical training programs including, but not limited to, speech-language pathology, audiology, psychology, education, pastoral counseling, social work, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.  The mission of CIMTC is to advance the highest quality of graduate training across a wide range of professional, educational, and human service disciplines. While the concepts of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training may appear reasonably straightforward, the operational mechanisms of developing and running such training programs can be quite challenging.  The CIMTC supports excellence in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training by:

  • Gathering and disseminating information regarding multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training clinics across the United States
  • Providing a forum for the exchange of information about the development and running of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training clinics
  • Gathering, organizing, and disseminating information regarding strategic planing, fundraising, grant writing, revenue generation, and marketing for multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training clinics
  • Providing liason with others involved in the education and clinical training of professionals represented in CIMTC
  • Promoting and providing professional development and networking opportunities for directors and faculty working in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training clinics

The CIMTC website is intended to serve as a collaborative environment that promotes communication exchange among CIMTC members.  The site offers multiple tools for information exchange, including forums for discussion, libraries for documents, calendar of events, etc.  It also provides a membership list, including description of clinic and contact information.

Membership

The CIMTC is in its infancy and is seeking members who will further define its mission and activities.  Membership is free and open to faculty and administrators who are part of or are interested in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary graduate training clinics.  To become a member of CIMTC, please contact Janet Simon Schreck, Director of Clinics at the Loyola Clinical Centers at theclinics@loyola.edu.
