This position will assist with planning and administration of the SumServe Practicum and Seminar, a class offered by the Sociology class in collaboration with the Center for Community Service and Justice. The class involves students in a community-based practicum and a weekly social justice seminar. This position is responsible for overseeing logistics and preparation for the community placements, making arrangements for the seminar, and assisting the professor in facilitation of the seminar sessions. The position will be responsible for other duties as needed. Position Duties: 1. Make arrangements for and oversee logistics of community placements, including transportation and related paperwork. 2. Assist with preparations for seminar sessions, including administrative tasks, research and general planning. 3. Assist in facilitation of seminar sessions, leading discussion and group learning activities. 4. Arrange weekly agency visits through consultation with agencies and professor/class members. 5. Compile results of participant and agency evaluations and learning goals, and make recommendations for program revisions. |
