Hours & Wages

Starting Date:  August 2010

$13,500 stipend for a nine-month appointment. Stipend does not include tuition.  There will be an opportunity for summer employment paid at an hourly wage.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree required. Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, experience in a supervisory capacity, and experience working with students, faculty, and teams preferred.  General knowledge in the areas of recreational sports, officiating, club sport management, and programming.  Acceptance in a Loyola University Graduate Program.  Graduate programs include: Education, Engineering Science, Modern Studies, Pastoral Counseling, Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology, and the Sellinger School of Business & Management.

Responsibilities

Assist the Director in the organization and administration of the Intramural Sports & Club Sports Programs.  Graduate Assistant will be responsible for specific team and individual sports and will directly supervise officials, supervisors and Club Sports officers. Assist with the Club Sports President's Council and club officers.  Assist with Special event programming and planning.  At minimum, will oversee Intramural and Club Sport evening and weekend activities three times per week.  Assist with departmental special events and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director – Intramurals and Club Sports.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)  Schedule intramural team sports & arrange club team practice schedules.

2)  Supervise and oversee intramural and club sport practices/contests weekday nights and weekends.

3)  Recruit, train, and evaluate intramural officials and site supervisors.

4)  Assist in program evaluation, revision of rules and policies, and inventory control.

5)  Coordinate equipment needs for intramural supervisors & club officers.

6)  Assist with the coordination of special events (swim meets, alumni functions, IM Golf Scramble, etc.) as assigned.

7)  Monitor officials and supervisors payroll hours and time cards.

8)  Assist with Captains’ meetings, Officials’ meetings and player discipline meetings.

9)  Assist with all monthly Club President Council Meetings and annual team evaluations.
