Loyola students, faculty, and administrators will participate in “Planting Seeds of Service: Cultivating Civic Engagement,” a conference sponsored by Baltimore’s Collegetown Network. The event takes place on Saturday, April 10 at Towson University.

The Loyola personnel will also be joined by representatives from agencies partnering with Loyola’s Center for Community Service and Justice to discuss topics including training volunteers for the Refugee Youth Project; forming community partnerships; service-learning’s role in developing a culture of peace; Loyola’s Spring Break Outreach service-immersion programs; the University’s faculty developmental model for advancing service-learning and engaged scholarship; and more.

U.S. Representative Elijah Cummings of Maryland’s 7th Congressional District will offer the event’s keynote address.
