Due to excessive heat in Baltimore and its surrounding areas this afternoon and the resulting strain on the electricity grid, Loyola University Maryland will close at 4 p.m. today.
Essential personnel are expected to report to their regularly scheduled shift, and must make every reasonable effort to remain at work. If an undue hardship causes an essential employee to leave work or not report to work for the remainder of the day, he or she must notify his or her supervisor for approval.
