TradeKing, a top-ranked, nationally licensed online stock and options broker focused on IT innovation, announced the launch of a fall 2011 TradeKing API Programming Challenge born out of a groundbreaking pilot program conducted in spring 2011 at the Sellinger School of Business and Management at Loyola University Maryland. The challenge provides undergraduate business, finance, and technology students with real-life experience developing an investment-focused "app" using TradeKing's application programming interface (API).
The success of the inaugural program at the Sellinger School encouraged TradeKing to expand the challenge nationally to at least 20 other participating colleges and universities. Paul Tallon, Ph.D., associate professor of information systems, helped coordinate the challenge at Loyola and will serve as a judge in the fall 2011 challenge.
