Loyola's Career Center offers a full range of career advising services and resources that are available to current students and alumni of the University. Students can meet with counselors in advising sessions to discuss various career development needs, such as choosing a major, clarifying career interests, obtaining part-time, summer job and internship experiences, planning and conducting a professional job search, obtaining full-time employment, selecting and being admitted to graduate school and changing careers. The Career Center offers a series of workshops which provide students with strategies for resume writing, job interviewing, job and internship seeking, and applying to graduate/professional schools.

Career Resource Library
The Career Resource Library provides a broad assortment of reference material on occupations, employers, and graduate/professional school programs including:
- Publications to assist students and alumni in exploring academic majors, career options, how to transition from college to the workforce, career changing and steps in the career planning process (i.e., networking, interviewing, resume writing, negotiation).
- A partial listing of internship and job opportunities. Printed materials pertaining to international employment.
- Numerous resources regarding graduate/professional schools to assist students in their research and in their application process (e.g., directories of graduate programs, preparing for graduate entrance exams, writing a personal statement). Students can schedule sessions with counselors to discuss and critique personal statements, essays and applications for graduate and professional schools.
The Alumni Career Network
The Alumni Career Network, with approximately 1,200 mentors, provides knowledgeable career advice to students from a network of Loyola alumni who have volunteered assistance. They serve as sources of career information and employment opportunities. Individuals who are interested in learning more about a particular career field and seeking employment can utilize this system.
On-Campus Employment Interviews
Every year, Loyola's On-Campus Recruitment Program brings employers on campus during the Fall and Spring semesters to interview students for jobs and internships. On the average, more than 150 companies send representatives to Loyola. Hounds4Hire, a Web-based recruitment system, is used to coordinate on-campus interviews, Career Center events, and job/internship postings. The Career Center maintains strong contacts with a wide range of employers and as a result, career counselors are well-informed about available opportunities.
OnLine Resources
The Career Center offers several online resources to students including, FOCUS (a self exploration assessment), Internships.com, Internships-USA.com, CareerSearch (an employer research system), Vault Career Insider (career library), NACElink (a network of job and internship postings and career information) and Goinglobal (an international and domestic opportunities and career resources system).
Employment opportunities
Announcements of job fairs and career days are posted, along with listings of various job leads for full-time and part-time employment, summer jobs, and a number of internships. These leads are received daily and are made available to the student body by means of the Career Center's Career Resource Library as well as Hounds4Hire.
Employment and Graduate/Professional School Information
Loyola's post-graduation employment and graduate/professional school statistics are excellent. Over the last five years, 90-95 percent of students were employed or attending graduate/professional school within nine months of graduation.
