STRATEGIC PLANNING for 2008-2013

Loyola University Maryland's strategic planning process is now complete. This website was used during the planning process and remains posted for historical purposes only. Current information about implementation and progress on the plan is available from the Strategic Plan website.

As with previous plans, an expanded Loyola Conference comprised the Steering Committee. The planning process began in October 2006 and ended when the Board of Trustees approved the plan on October 8, 2008. This website was used to keep the campus community informed about the planning process and was updated frequently. For an overview of community involvement, please view the historical calendar.

The Plan's overarching goal is that Loyola will be the leading Catholic comprehensive university in the nation. We cannot fully achieve our potential of being the leading Catholic comprehensive university without reflecting upon and considering the role of our Core Values, which have defined us in the past. These values will continue to be the guiding force behind all future endeavors. Our success also relies on continued commitment to several particularly significant and noteworthy ongoing initiatives, which were begun under previous strategic plans.

The Strategic Plan is organized into five key areas critical to Loyola's continuing achievement,
these initiatives focus on Undergraduate Education, Graduate Education, Faculty Development,
Community Engagement, and Athletics. The plan also contains three appendices addressing Key Indicators of Success, Operational Assumptions, and Resource Requirements and Funding Sources.

Throughout the planning process, there were opportunities for consituency-based groups to provide structured feedback. An online Discussion Board provided an additional way in which interested members of the campus community could provide feedback. Additionally, background documents, Fr. Linnane's letter to the community regarding the designation change, and other useful reports were available online.
