next strategic planning process is currently underway. As with previous plans, an expanded Loyola Conference comprises the Steering Committee. The planning process began in October 2006 and it is anticipated that the Board of Trustees will approve the plan in October 2008. To keep the campus community informed about the planning process, this webpage will be updated frequently. For an overview of upcoming community involvement, please view the calendar. For an overview of community involvement to date, please view the historical calendar. The Plan's overarching goal is that Loyola will be the leading comprehensive Catholic university in the nation. We cannot fully achieve our potential of being the leading comprehensive Catholic university without reflecting upon and considering the role of our Core Values, which have defined us in the past. These values will continue to be the guiding force behind all future endeavors. Our success also relies on continued commitment to several particularly significant and noteworthy ongoing initiatives, which were begun under previous strategic plans. The current draft outline, which will be updated in the beginning of May to reflect the revised structure, groups possible initiatives under two broad themes: * Grounded in Tradition, Education for the Future * Being Rooted in Maryland, Embracing the World In addition to the work of the Expanded Loyola Conference, Fr. Linnane has formed two working groups: a Living/Learning Communities working group and a Diversity working group. The Living/Learning Communities working group has developed a proposal for a program of living/learning communities for all first-year students. They have also created a PowerPoint illustrating the details of the program. The Diversity working group is developing a plan for conducting a diversity self-study, which will be dynamic as well as a learning process. Fr. Linnane has formed a Drafting Committee that has been preparing and editing each new version of the draft Plan. Drafts will be posted on this site as they are developed.
As the planning process continues throughout the Summer, there will be opportunities for consituency-based groups to provide structured feedback. The online Discussion Board provides an additional way in which interested members of the campus community can provide feedback. Additionally, background documents, Fr. Linnane's Strategic Planning letter to the community, and other useful reports can be accessed online. If you have any suggestions for additional reports to be posted, please send your requests to Emilie Kulis. Last updated on May 1, 2008. |
