Students in Loyola's biology program benefit from hands-on laboratory experiences, research opportunities with faculty and a robust curriculum. Together, these experiences create a holistic learning environment that prepares graduates for successful admission to graduate and professional schools or for direct entry into the field.
For majors, the general biology curriculum is very flexible, allowing students to individualize their course selections to suit their academic and career goals. The department also offers a minor. Or, students can pursue an interdisciplinary degree and combine two disciplines, such as biology and chemistry.
