| Students of philosophy can choose from a wide range of courses that include areas as diverse as ancient Greek philosophy, medieval philosophy, Asian philosophy, continental European philosophy, American philosophy, and women's studies. In addition, our department stresses an interdisciplinary approach and offers courses jointly developed with other departments. Students are given the opportunity to share discussion in philosophy clubs and to compete for honors and awards for excellence in writing and research. Guest speakers are invited to host discussions of a wide range of current philosophical issues. Overall, our department stresses scholarship, collegiality, and enthusiasm for thinking, among faculty members and students alike. Our department offers a B.A. degree in philosophy. | |
