| Declaration of Major The student has the option to formally declare a major as early as the end of the second semester but may remain undeclared until the end of the third semester. The student may also declare a minor on the same form. Upon declaration of a major, the Academic Advising and Support Center (A.A.S.C.) will assign the student to a faculty member from the department of the major. This faculty member, designated by the department chair, will serve as the academic advisor in place of the Core Advisor. The process for declaring a major is as follows: - The student should meet with his or her Core Advisor to discuss the choice of major and to complete the Declaration of Major Form.
- The student submits the Declaration of Major Form to the Academic Advising and Support Center
- The Academic Advising and Support Center notifies the student of the name of their major Faculty Advisor.
