The scientific method embodies a way in which we naturally and cyclically pose questions; observe, gather, and analyze data; and discern and discover features of the universe. Science helps us approach, think about, and solve everyday challenges.

In the coming years, citizens will be increasingly called upon to make personal, social, ethical, and governmental decisions that fundamentally require an understanding of science, mathematics, and technology.
