    Black Faculty, Administrators and Staff Association (BFASA)

    Our purpose is to make a positive impact on the Loyola Community by assisting the college with employee recruitment, employee retention, diversity education, student recruitment, retention and mentoring.


    Mission

    To assist in the recruitment of people of color by:
    Serving as a network and resource for departments involved in searches
    ; Helping identify candidates for positions on campus; and Providing information about Loyola and the Baltimore area for people of color seeking positions.

    To assist in the retention of people of color by:
    Serving as a supportive network for people of color at Loyola; Advocating for a supportive climate for all people of color; Encouraging members to achieve their personal and professional goals at the College; Providing orientation and mentoring network for new hires; Mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

    To be an advocate for education with:
    Continuous education of the Loyola community on diversity issues in keeping with Loyola's Statement of Vision and Values which states that 'all members of the community aspire to treat each other as colleagues, recognize their value, appreciate their differences, safeguard their rights, acknowledge their responsibilities and respect their opinions'.

    To be a resource by:
    Assisting the Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions Offices in their efforts to increase the number of students of color at Loyola College.
