
Library Hours and Location:The Diversity Resource Library is located in Jenkins Hall 120 within the College’s Office of Academic Affairs. Library materials will be available for review and check-out between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Policy Statement: The Diversity Resource Library includes a variety of materials which are available to all Loyola College students, faculty, staff and administration. Its aim is to provide the campus with important diversity-related information and pedagogical resources ranging from books and journal articles to audiovisuals. In order to provide for the efficient and equitable circulation of materials, the library sets the following policies regarding borrowing eligibility, length of loan for various materials, limits on the number of items that can be borrowed, renewals, reserves and overdue materials and replacement. The library utilizes an integrated automated circulation system to maintain, monitor and report circulation statistics, overdue notices, user registration records and inventory control. Borrowing Eligibility All members of the Loyola College community are permitted to borrow materials from the Diversity Resource Library. A valid Loyola ID is required. Length of Loan for Various Materials All printed materials, including books, journals, manuals and pamphlets, will be available on loan for a period of 14 days. All audiovisual materials will be available on loan for a period of 7 days. Limits on the Number of Items Borrowed Each person who makes use of the Diversity Resource Library is permitted to check out a maximum of two printed materials and one audiovisual at any given time. Renewals Given the supply of resources in the Library and the anticipated demand of borrowers, only one renewal will be granted per printed material checked out. No renewals will be given for audiovisual materials. The length of each renewal will be 14 days. Reserves Library materials may be reserved by calling the Office of Academic Affairs and Diversity at 410-617-5138. Items will be placed on reserve for no longer than a 48-hour period, at which point they will return to normal circulation. Overdue Materials and Replacement No additional resources will be checked out to any individual who fails to return materials in a timely manner. Repeated inability to return resources within the designated loan period may result in suspension of library privileges. The library reserves the right to charge borrowers for the replacement of any resources not returned within a six week period. |
