Students in robotics club meeting

The mission of the Robotics Club is to encourage students and faculty to discuss, prototype, and test robots that they choose to create on their own or with others. The club is mentored by Dr. David Hoe in the Engineering department and Dr. Roger Eastman in the Computer Science department. The club is meeting regularly on Friday afternoons this semester (Spring 2015) in the Robotics Lab (DSC 143).

Current projects include the building of some basic autonomous robots. The students are learning to program the Arduino microprocessor for controlling the robots and to interface the Arduino to various components such as sensors and motors. More sophisticated robot designs are planned. In addition, the group is aiming to enter some robotics competitions in the near future.

All are welcome to take part in the club and no experience in robotics is necessary. Please contact Andrew Gorbaty (ajgorbaty@loyola.edu) for further information.
