Student Course Evaluations

Course evaluations are an important element in the University's efforts to meet a high standard of excellence in the classroom. An evaluation questionnaire provides students the opportunity to evaluate their courses. Copies of the University's questionnaire are distributed to each faculty member, and this questionnaire or an appropriate substitute must be administered in every course at the end of each academic term (Faculty Handbook, 2010).

In the spring of 2003, the Academic Senate passed a set of procedures that specified the administration of these teaching evaluation forms in standard 14 week classes. Because the administration of these forms is critical to an enhanced and evolving learning environment at the University, the Office of Academic Affairs has set up the following pages to assist faculty and administrative assistants as they administer evaluations.

Please see below for a description of each of the pages on this site. To access any one page, click the appropriate link located in the "What's Here" box.

The Information for Faculty page contains general information, including the Academic Senate's administration guidelines.

The Information for Administrative Assistants page contains evaluation distribution and delivery instructions, including revised delivery procedures for Loyola's three campuses.

The Information for Student Proctors page contains information and guidelines for the student in each class designated to administer evaluations.

The Special Procedures for Timonium and Columbia page details guidelines for the distribution, administration and delivery of evaluations at the graduate campuses, including instructions for graduate student proctors.

The Contact Information page includes the e-mail addresses, office locations and phone numbers for the Academic Ceremonies office.
