Art History Degree Information Art history majors take three lower-division courses (AH110, AH111, and PT270 or SA224) and nine upper-division courses (200-level or above). Students must take one upper-division course in Classical or Medieval art, one in Renaissance or Baroque art, and one in art postdating the 18th century. Majors must take at least one course in non-Western art, but no more that two 200-level courses may count towards the major. Majors are strongly encouraged to take the department's 400-level historiographic and methological seminar. Most majors also choose to study abroad.
