Dr. Charles Cheape
BIOGRAPHY Chuck Cheape did his undergraduate work at the University of Virginia and received his doctorate in U.S. history from Brandeis University, which he attended under the Southern Christian quota. After stints at Dartmouth College and Oklahoma State University, he joined Loyola's history department in 1984, where he continues to teach courses about the U.S. since the Civil War, the Gilded Age in the United States, and American business history. He has written books about the development of mass transit in several eastern U.S.cities, the history of Norton Company, and the career of Walter Carpenter, a top executive at Du Pont and General Motors.
