Scholarly Interests:

My primary research interest is the developmental psychopathology
of depression in adolescence. Recently, my research has focused on
understanding the emergence of gender differences in depression,
specifically why the rates of depression double for girls but remain
stable or drop for boys during early adolescence. I am investigating
how gender roles, self-discrepancy, and stress and coping affect
adolescent girls' vulnerability to depression. In addition, I have
interests in the development of self-regulation, gender roles and
eating disorders.
