Practice of Psychology

The Practitioner Track emphasizes utilizing psychological theory and research to inform the practice of Psychology and is designed to prepare students for applied careers in psychology.  Students who follow this track might pursue bachelor’s level positions such as an applied behavioral analysis therapist or a case worker at a community agency, or following master’s level training positions such as a social worker, licensed clinical professional counselor, or psychological associate.  Students following the practitioner track also are prepared to pursue applied doctoral training (Psy.D. programs) in clinical or counseling  psychology in order to hold positions such as staff psychologist at a mental health facility, college counseling center, or correctional institute; school psychologist; affiliate faculty members at universities; and private practitioners.
