The mission of the ORSP is to support research and other sponsored project activity at Loyola University Maryland. The ORSP Web site contains important information concerning opportunities for funding, useful information for applying for grants and contracts, and policies and procedures that support research and grant activity at Loyola.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • NEW: 2010 Summer Research Grant Applications
    In order to conserve paper resources, proposals for Loyola's 2010 Summer Research Grant competition will be submitted online. Revised program guidelines and submission instructions will be released in early November. 
  • NEW: Human Subjects Applications Forms Updated
    Please note that an updated Application for Approval of Investigation Involving Human Participants in addition to a revised Request for Renewal and Request for Amendment forms can be accessed on the Human Subjects Policies, Procedures and Forms page.  These forms should be used for all new applications as they incorporate the new Human Subjects Education requirement and other revisions.
  • Required Human Subjects Education Certificate
    Any faculty member or other Loyola employee conducting independent research or overseeing student-conducted research and any student working on independent research, a dissertation or thesis that involves research with human subjects will be required to complete a free, online education program prior to the review of his or her Application for Approval of Investigation Involving Human Subjects.  This requirement will pertain to all investigators as listed above, including those in departments that do not typically conduct research involving human participants.  For full details, please visit the Human Subjects Education page.
  • ORSP Welcomes New Assistant Director for Grant Development
    Stacey Bass joined the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs as the Assistant Director for Grant Development on March, 2, 2009.  Stacey's position is an addition to the ORSP staff and is designed to offer greater support to the Loyola faculty in identifying grant opportunities and developing successful proposals.  She is the primary contact for funding search requests works with faculty on proposal development.  With this new position, the ORSP has additional resources available to support faculty in their efforts to secure grants and fellowships to further their scholarship.
  • Federalwide Assurance Approved for Human Subjects Research
    Loyola's Federalwide Assurance (FWA) for human subjects has been approved by the Office of Human Research Protections of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  The FWA number is FWA00013527.
