Please note that an updated Application for Approval of Investigation Involving Human Participants in addition to a revised Request for Renewal and Request for Amendment forms can be accessed on the Human Subjects Policies, Procedures and Forms page. These forms should be used for all new applications as they incorporate the new Human Subjects Education requirement and other revisions.
- Required Human Subjects Education Certificate
Any faculty member or other Loyola employee conducting independent research or overseeing student-conducted research and any student working on independent research, a dissertation or thesis that involves research with human subjects will be required to complete a free, online education program prior to the review of his or her Application for Approval of Investigation Involving Human Subjects. This requirement will pertain to all investigators as listed above, including those in departments that do not typically conduct research involving human participants.
