Applying for Funding

The ORSP is available to assist faculty with all steps necessary to prepare and submit a grant application.

Finding Funding
The ORSP subscribes to the Community of Science, an easy-to-use database that identifies grant opportunities for research and other academic projects.

The Funding Sources area of the ORSP website provides links to many funding organizations.

The ORSP is able to provide customized funding searches for faculty members. Faculty in the humanities and social sciences please contact Stacey Bass and faculty in the natural sciences and Sellinger School of Buniess and Magament should contact Julie Ryder for more information.

Grant Writing
The ORSP offers guidance on proposal development.  We suggest that you begin the grant-writing process early in order to prepare a compelling application and strong supporting materials.

Government agencies typically provide detailed instructions for prospective grant applicants.  Additionally, a number of online resources provide general information on writing effective grant proposals.

For additional information on proposal development, please contact Nancy Dufau.

Grant Routing
Any proposal that will result in a grant to Loyola must be routed before it is submitted to a government agency.  This includes foundation or other proposals that include faculty time or resource commitments made on behalf of the University.
