Lisa SchoenbrodtWelcome to the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences  Department website. We are pleased to announce that as of Tuesday, September 22, we have officially changed our name to the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences.

This past year was a very productive year for the department! Our undergraduate program underwent a review by internal and external reviewers who made some very well-informed suggestions. The department has worked diligently on some of these recommendations, which include revamping and revising coursework in our undergraduate program that will better prepare our students for graduate study while allowing them more freedom to explore coursework in minors and other areas. We are very excited about these changes that will “roll out” in the 2016-2017 academic year!

We also were very busy hiring new faculty this past spring and have many wonderful new faces who bring many talents and experiences to our academic and clinical programs. We welcome tenure-track faculty member Tepanta Fossett, Ph.D., assistant professor; Ms. Theresa Alexander, M.S. CCC-SLP, clinical instructor; Ms. Kathleen Creel, M.S.CCC-SLP, clinical instructor; and Dr. Brandy Winn, Au.D., clinical instructor. We also welcome back Dr. Libby Kumin who was on sabbatical this past year researching many exciting projects! We are very proud of our faculty and their many accomplishments in research and publication. I hope you have the opportunity to travel to the ASHA conference this year to see their excellent presentations!
