  • Art as a Means of Supporting the Development of the Whole Child (for Primary Teachers) with Janet McDonell

Humans have a driving need to create and experience beauty.  On the one hand, art is a mode of self-expression.  On the other, appreciating the art of others is elemental to our well being. This workshop will explore both aspects of art.  We will look at the world of art through the eyes of children and explore ways to respond to their unique way of learning at this time of life. Participants will also make handmade materials to bring back to their classrooms.

Cost: $120

Registration Deadline: November 11

  • Freedom and Discipline (for Assistants) with Jennifer Shields

How can we assist children in being their best selves? Spend a day with Jennifer Shields, exploring Dr. Montessori’s crucial concepts of freedom and discipline. Our goal is to help children develop their own inner discipline and an independent sense of freedom, regardless of circumstance. Come to this workshop to discover and practice ways we can live with children to foster these lifelong qualities.
