Clubs, Activities, and Fitness

Many universities treat your interests outside the classroom as nothing more than hobbies or activities they believe should take a backseat to your academic pursuits. Not Loyola. We understand that your passions—whether for martial arts and robotics or improv comedy and international cuisine—are fundamental to who you are. Our hundreds of student-led clubs and activities receive the funding and support that allow you to design a college experience that's as well-rounded and robust as you want it to be.

Clubs and Activities

There are more ways than we can count to get involved: concerts, open mics, exhibitions, lectures, readings, performances, craft nights, clubs, movie nights, opportunities for service and community engagement, karaoke competitions… And in case you don’t know where to start, Loyola’s office of student engagement can point you in the right direction. We're confident you’ll find something of interest through our activities and programs—or through Loyola’s 200+ student clubs and organizations. In addition, check out our Late Night program and OPTIONS, a student-led organization that offers a variety of fun off-campus activities.

Fitness and Aquatic Center

Take a five-minute walk up Charles Street to our world-class 115,000-square-foot Fitness and Aquatic Center (FAC). With a 30-foot climbing wall, 6,000-square-foot fitness center, eight-lane swimming pool, group exercise classes, and multiple sports facilities, it’s not just a gym; it’s a destination.

Intercollegiate, Club, and Intramural Sports

Loyola’s 18 NCAA Division I varsity sports teams compete in the Patriot League. For those with a competitive streak who aren’t on a Greyhounds roster, we also offer 26 club sports teams, all run by students, that compete at the local, regional, and national levels. In addition, Loyola’s intramural sports leagues offer individual and team competitions throughout the academic year.

Outdoor Adventure Experience

Need a break from campus or city life? Outdoor Adventure Experience (OAE) offers day and weekend-long trips throughout the academic year for undergraduate students. From hiking and backpacking to rock climbing, caving, and kayaking, adventure awaits. Follow OAE on Facebook or stop by “basecamp” at the FAC for more information on upcoming excursions led by trained student guides, and go get lost.
