Your mission — should you choose to accept it – will be to explore one of Baltimore’s eclectic neighborhoods and see what it has to tell you. You’ll investigate the city using a pencil, a note pad, a Polaroid camera, your senses, and most of all, through the people you encounter along the way. Mission: Mobtown is a monthly series of excursions, co-sponsored by American Studies, the Honors Program, and Year of the City, that encourages students and other members of the Loyola College community to explore the neighborhoods that make Baltimore so unique. Participants form teams of 3 to compete in an unusual scavenger hunt, gathering information from local residents and merchants, and collecting items that reflect the contemporary life of the neighborhood, its culture, and its history. At the end of the afternoon, participants gather to share refreshments, present team dossiers, and award a prize to the team with the most creative dossier.

Steve Hess '07 and Dave Moore '07 with the Fell’s Point piñata they received for their dossier on "desire" Trips are scheduled for the last Saturday of every month. Pick up the bus at Jenkins lot at 1, return by 5pm. Contact Hannah Blauvelt ( hwblauvelt@loyola.edu) to sign up - space is limited!
