Sophomore Daniel Ankrah and junior Jamie Darvill scored 3:30 apart midway through the first half and Loyola's defense held Fordham without a shot on goal in the second half as the Greyhounds opened the 2008 campaign with a 2-0 victory over the Rams in the first game for both teams of the 2008 Black & Decker Soccer Classic Friday afternoon on Diane Geppi-Aikens Field. The Loyola women's basketball team spent its final full day in Italy on Thursday, touring the Vatican and Rome. In the evening, Kaitlin Grant scored 27 points, and Siobhan Prior added 26, as the Greyhounds defeated Palestrina Pool, 121-54, to finish 3-1 in competition on the trip. Read Full Release

Men's Basketball Picked To Play In Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off
08/19/2008 - Loyola's men's basketball team was one of the 16 entrants into the 2008 Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off Tournament announced today in New York by C.M. Newton, chair of the NIT Selection Committee. The Greyhounds will open at Boston College on ESPNU on November 17.
McVea, Kocic Named To Hermann Trophy Watch List
08/20/2008 - Loyola juniors Tennant McVea and Milos Kocic were named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List by the Missouri Athletic Club. The Hermann Trophy, considered the most prestigious award given annually to the top collegiate soccer player, will be awarded following the 2008 season.
