ADESS offers a variety of Early intervention and Education Classes for our students. Students may refer themselves to our office, may be referred by another member of the Loyola community, or may be mandated to our office through the University Judicial Process.

All Education sessions are held in the ADESS Conference Room, Seton Court 02B.Level One is a brief alcohol abuse prevention and harm reduction program. Level One is a single 90-minute session, that helps students assess their alcohol consumption, and identify safer, healthier choices. Level One is designed to assist students in examining their own behavior in a non-confrontational manner that enables students to make their own decisions about alcohol consumption. Level One sessions are offered every Thursday, 3:00-4:30pm & the third Tuesday in the month, 9:00-10:30am* (unless noted below) Thursday, September 16th, 23rd, 30th (3pm-4:30pm) Tuesday, September 21st (9am-10:30am) Thursday, October 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th (3pm-4:30pm) Tuesday, October 12th (9am-10:30am)* Thursday, November 4th, 11th, 18th (3pm-4:30pm) Tuesday November 16th (9am-10:30am) Thursday, December 2nd, 9th (3pm-4:30pm) Tuesday, December 7th (9am-10:30am)
Level Two consists of two 60-minute alcohol abuse prevention and harm reduction sessions. Level Two focuses on self- awareness, personal responsibility, and identifying personal values and what role they play in alcohol consumption. Level Two is designed to assist higher risk students in examining their choices in a non-confrontational manner. Level Two sessions are offered on specified Tuesdays, 3pm-4:00pm. September 28th & October 5th October 26th & November 2nd November 30th & December 7th
CHOICES Program is a more comprehensive alcohol abuse prevention and harm reduction program. CHOICES consists of six 60-minute sessions. CHOICES focuses on self awareness, identifying strategies, challenging beliefs, examining personal risk factors, and building skills to reduce harm with alcohol consumption. CHOICES sessions are offered based on students scheduled.
***Students MUST register in advance for all sessions. To register, contact ADESS at 410-617-2928 or stop by. ***Students who have class during the regularly scheduled session must register for an Alternate session. Alternate sessions will be scheduled based on the student’s class schedule. ADESS also offers Individual Counseling and Support for students. To learn more about other services offered, click here. |
