Graduate Student Health Insurance

Loyola College is pleased to provide the availability of student health insurance. All full-time and part-time graduate students in a degree seeking program taking at least 6 credits are eligible to enroll voluntarily onto the Student Health Insurance Plan.  Graduate students taking less than 6 credit hours are eligible if they are in a degree seeking program and taking coursework to complete their degree with the College for the current policy year.

Note:  All international graduate students with a current J-1, J-2, F-1, or F-2 student visa who are enrolled at Loyola College are required to purchase Loyola’s Student Health Insurance Plan.  The purchase of the Student Health Insurance plan is mandatory and non-waivable.  The mandatory enrollment process is managed through the Graduate Admissions Office.

We expect that you will have a healthy year, but we strongly recommend that you make an informed decision about your health insurance. The student insurance program, which is underwritten by Aetna Life Insurance, is a student focused, affordable health insurance plan that protects students at school, at home, and while traveling or studying abroad.

Providers in the Maryland area

Aetna Student Health has established a Preferred Provider Network that can be accessed in your local community. Additionally, national acute care facilities and mental health networks are available for covered persons if they require hospitalization outside the immediate area of the Loyola College campus. To maximize your savings and reduce out-of-pocket expenses, select a Preferred Provider. It is to your advantage to use a preferred provider because significant savings may be achieved from the substantially lower rates these providers have agreed to accept as payment for their services. A complete list of Providers can be found using the  "DocFind" service which is available on Aetna's website.

For more information, call Aetna Student Health at 1-800-232-5481 or check their web site at www.aetnastudenthealth.com.
