Do I have the Right to Appeal?

Yes.  You do have the right to appeal any judicial decision given three specific criteria:

1.) Procedural Due Process - Student alleges that their due process rights as outlined in the Community Standards handbook were violated.

2.) Absence of sufficient evidence to support a decision - Student alleges that there was not enough evidence to support a respnsible finding.

3.) Discovery of New Evidence - Student alleges that new evidence discovered since the original hearing might impact the decision of responsiblity or determination of the sanction.

4.) In the event a student is suspended from housing or the University, a student may appeal based on the ground that she/he feels the sanctions is grossly disproportionate to the offense.

How do I File an Appeal?

Appeals must be made in writing to the Director of Student Life via email or a hand delivered letter to the Student Life Office in Seton Court no later than 48 hours after you receive your decision letter.  Your appeal must clearly state your grounds /rationale for the appeal.
