To all Returning Residential Students,

I hope your semester is off to a great start.  The time has come once again for us to start planning for the 2012-2013 academic year, which means for you Room Selection.    For this year’s process, we have made some very exciting changes to the process which will make Room Selection much easier and less stressful for those planning to return to Campus Housing for the 2012-2013 Academic year.   

If you are planning on living with us again for the 2012-2013 Academic Year, you will need to complete your Intent to Return to Campus Housing through RoomRez, Loyola’s Online Housing Portal.    Simply follow the steps below to complete your housing process (these directions are also available on the Student Life Webpage).

PHASE ONE:  Intent to Return to Campus Housing

If you are planning on living on campus again for the 2012-2013 academic year, you will need to complete your Intent to Return to Campus Housing through RoomRez.  The open enrollment period to declare your Intent to Return to Campus Housing will begin on January 30 at 9am and run through February 7 at 4pm.  

You will need to log in to your Inside Loyola account and click on the link called RoomRez Housing Portal using your Loyola Username and Password.   During this phase, you will apply for housing for the 2012-2013 academic year, and update your home and emergency contact information. You will then have the opportunity to sign your housing contract for the 2012-2013 academic year. If you do not sign your contract you will not be able to complete this phase or be pulled into a roommate group and therefore will not be able participate in room selection. 

If you complete your Intent to Return to Campus Housing by February 7th, you will be given the opportunity to form your roommate group online.  Please keep in mind that all students must complete Phase One in order to be pulled into a roommate group. 

PHASE TWO:   Roommate Group Formation/Verification

At this time, students will need to form roommate groups.  Each group will designate a group leader to create the group, and assign a username and password for the group.  Once this is done, the group leader will then assign students to the group or give the group members the username and password they set up for the group so they may join the group themselves.  The group representative must be the one to choose the room during the assigned timeslot. 

You will need to log in to your Inside Loyola account and click on the link called RoomRez Housing Portal to form your roommate group.  This phase will be available online beginning Wednesday February 8, at 8am and running through February 17, @ 4pm. 

Please remember that only full roommate groups will be able to choose a room during room selection.  Incomplete groups will be placed once online room selection has ended. 

Once the group is complete, the group leader will need to log in and verify the group in order to proceed to Phase Three.

PHASE THREE: Deposits

A deposit of $300 is due by February 24th, 2012. This deposit can be paid to Student Administrative Services.

PHASE FOUR: Room Selection

All roommate groups will be assigned a timeslot for room selection.  The group leader should watch their Loyola e-mail account for an e-mail with the group’s assigned room selection time slot.  Much like registration for class, you will not have access to the room selection process until your schedule time.

You will need to log in to your Inside Loyola account and click on the link called RoomRez Housing Portal during your assigned room selection timeslot.  Once online the roommate group leader will then choose a room for your group and assign group members to specific bedrooms. 

Once you have selected your room assignment, you will not be able to change your assignment. If you do not select your room assignment during your assigned time slot Student Life will assign you after all the room selection process for all eligible students is complete.  This may involve breaking up your roommate group and may not occur until later this summer depending on space.

Please note that students who will be participating in the Special Interest Housing Process (Substance Free House and Ad Infinitum), will only complete Phase One online. 

Students who will be studying abroad in a fall program or year-long program will not participate in room selection.
