Students planning to live off-campus for 2011-2012 are required to do the following:

1.) Register your local address with the Records Office at the University by July 1, 2011.

2.) Contact Greg Simons (Assistant Director of Student Life) at 410-617-2918 or at gbsimons@loyola.edu if you have any questions.

Students must comply with the following terms of the covenant between Loyola University Maryland and the North Baltimore Neighborhood Coalition regarding off campus dwellings: Loyola agrees to prohibit non¬residential commuter students from residing in dwellings located in the following neighborhoods: Blythewood, Guilford, Evergreen, Homeland, Kernewood, Keswick, Radnor-Winston, Roland Park, Roland Springs, Tuscany-Canterbury, and Wyndhurst unless:

1. The dwelling was originally designed as an apartment style residence or
2. The student lives with a relative or
3. The student lives with a friend of the student's family.

Loyola University Maryland will consider students living in the prohibited areas to be in violation of these guidelines. The University may treat these violations as cases of misconduct and may require such students to obtain new housing, either on or off campus, as determined by the University. Loyola will not be responsible to any students or parents of students for claims by any landlord if such students are required to relocate. It is the student's responsibility to check the status of their potential rental with the University prior to signing a lease.

Although the Office of Student Life is providing off-campus housing information as a courtesy service to students, Loyola University Maryland is not responsible for the safety and security of the housing listings posted on the Places4Students.com registry. As a Loyola student, we urge you to be diligent in inspecting any of these (and other) off-campus residences and to talk with your landlord about the terms of your lease agreement. In particular, we urge you to pay close attention to safety items such as security systems, fire and smoke alarms, and points of entry/exit. We strongly discourage you from living in a place that violates city zoning regulations. As always, we hope that your parents are involved in your decision making regarding your choice to live off-campus and that you contact Loyola University Maryland should you have any questions or concerns. And remember, once you sign a lease, your agreement is binding.
