Loyola University Maryland

Greeting from the Vice President

The Division of Student Development strives to complement the mission and goals of Loyola College by providing a variety of programs, activities, and services that enhance the educational experience of students while promoting a sense of community among students, faculty, administration, and staff. Central to community building is the concept of cura personalis, or care of the whole person--body, mind and spirit, that is inherent in Jesuit education.

Among the many noteworthy programs and services offered by the division are our brand new Fitness and Aquatic Center, that provides many kinds of fitness opportunities for the College community, highly regarded residence hall facilities, and our new, innovative Loyola Late Night program that meets a growing need among students for on-campus, alcohol-free programming.

My invitation to you is to take advantage of the myriad of opportunities available and the wealth of information and experience housed within our professional staff. Our hope is for the Loyola graduate to leave this community a "man or woman for others" who is prepared to "learn, lead and serve in a diverse and changing world."

Susan M. Donovan, Ph.D.
Vice President for Student Development and Dean of Students
