Service-Faith Connections

As an office at a Catholic, Jesuit institution, the foundation and existence of the Center is directly related to the belief that service, faith and justice are inextricably connected. Here at Loyola, we expect and plan on working with volunteers whose motivation to engage in service stems from her/his faith and/or spirituality. Opportunities for spiritual reflections and prayer are always available and part of the structure of most of our programs.

Several members of the CCSJ staff partner with members of the Campus Ministry Office to form a Spirituality Committee whose main goal is to connect service and justice to faith and spirituality. They are always ready and willing to engage in conversation with volunteers about how their spirituality is affected by their service experiences. We welcome all members of the college community who sincerely desire to give, receive and learn through service and explore their journeys in faith.
