Community Service Fair

Community Service Fair

Date: Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Time: 12:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Location: Quad (Rain Location: McGuire Hall)

Over the years, the fair has been a great occasion for Loyola students to become involved in the Baltimore community and for local agencies to introduce students to a variety of volunteer opportunities. More than 45 representatives of the community organization that partnering with CCSJ participate in this Fair. These organizations address a range of issues, including homelessness/food, the environment, advocacy, health, mentoring and the arts. For two and half hours around lunchtime, these representatives are on hand to discuss available volunteer opportunities.

Community Service Fairs offer students and other members of the university community a chance to find existing opportunities to volunteer. In addition, the Fair presents faculty developing community service-learning courses an opportunity to explore forming partnerships with local organizations.

Community organizations seeking to promote volunteer opportunities at the Fair are asked to register online for a table. Students, faculty, staff and others are not required to register. However, for students who are interested in service, but missed the fair, please fill out the volunteer interest form, and the service coordinator will be in touch with you or you are welcome to visit CCSJ office anytime.

If you have any further question about the fair please contact Malia Lien at ext. 2071
