Thanksgiving Food Drive The Thanksgiving Food Drive connects members of the Loyola community with the CARES Food Pantry in the Govans neighborhood of York Road. Loyola partners with C ARES to provide 200 families with a full Thanksgiving meal. The Thanksgiving Food Drive assumes responsibility for raising money to purchase a turkey for each family. The drive also includes an on-campus collection, which changes based on the needs of the community, whether it be for canned goods to complete the Thanksgiving meal, or for other essential items which typically run low in the pantry. On the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving, volunteers help distribute packages containing turkeys with all the trimmings to the families at CARES.
