Post-Graduate Service Fair

Post-Graduate Service Fair

Each fall the Center for Community Service and Justice (CCSJ) partners with the Career Center to invite representatives of non-profit organizations and volunteer programs to campus for a career fair. The Fair offers graduating students a great opportunity to meet with the organizations that offer a wide variety of opportunities to serve in the U.S and abroad. Every year, more than 30 representatives of the organizations participate in this Fair. For two and half hours around lunchtime, these representatives are on hand to discuss available volunteer opportunities and/ or permanent employment opportunities in the non-profit organization.

NOTE that "volunteer" usually means that you are living in a community of fellow workers and are provided with health insurance, room, meals and a small stipend.

This year the fair is scheduled for Monday,  November 7, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in McGuire Hall, Andrew White Student Center of Loyola University Maryland.

For Students

The partnership between CCSJ and the Career Center illustrates the fact that full-time community service is a great career move—one that can fundamentally enhance your career preparation. In addition to economic benefits such as free housing and insurance, many of these programs offer opportunities for professional development that cannot be matched by most entry-level positions. Click here to check out the list of benefit of doing one or two year of volunteer service.
