Life of Service After Graduation

Wondering how to continue living a life a service after graduation? Want to work in an organization where you can continue serving people who are marginalized? or want to volunteer full-time for a year (or two) of service as a way for you to transition into your future career or graduate study?

For students who may be interested looking for job in non-profit organization, we have prepared a list of organizations that may direct you to find the most recent job openings.

For you who may be interested in volunteering after graduation we have compiled a list of programs you may want to consider. However, listed below are two logical first places to look if you are interested to join a faith-based program, or you may stop by the CCSJ office and pick up a "Response" magazine that lists a wide variety of faith-based volunteer programs, including those in the United States and International or explore their website at https://www.catholicvolunteernetwork.org/

For you who are undecided on whether joining one or two year of service after graduation is for you, or you have decided to do post-college service, but not sure how to decide which program to choose or which place to go, you may want to:

  1. watch the interviewes with Loyola alums who have done post-grad service or work at non-profit organization.
  2. use Service After Graduation Exploration Guide to help you navigate.
  3. attend the Post-Graduate Service Fair (Fall Semester) - Each year CCSJ in collaboration with the Career Center hosts a day for various organizations from the country to come on campus and acquaint students with both non-profit job opportunities and volunteer opportunities after graduation. The fair usually takes place in McGuire Hall from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
