CCSJ moved to Humanities!
After more than 15 years in Cohn Hall, CCSJ moved to suite 142 of the Humanities building on July 11th, 2011. Join the CCSJ Facebook and Twitter pages to hear about the latest updates, see photos, and learn more about the new space and upcoming events. While Cohn Hall has been a second home for many students, faculty, and staff for many years, it has also become quite cramped! As CCSJ has expanded to include more programs and offer more service opportunities for students, our staff has also expanded. But the space hasn't grown with the growing number of employees! Many people found themselves working in closets, donations often piled up in hallways and presented fire code challenges, and the staff was divided up around the building. The move took place July 11th, 2011. Information for new students was distributed at summer orientations. An open house and tours of the new space will take place during the first two weeks of the Fall 2011 semester -- stay tuned for more details. Loyola's Campus Services and Facilities Departments, along with the visionary work of Hord Coplan Macht architects, have come together over the past year to design an inviting new home for CCSJ. The main entrance to the space is from the walkway next to Dianne Geppi-Aikens Field.
Don't worry! Lots of catchy signs will direct people from the walkway near Starbucks to the new main entrance - you won't miss it! Some highlights of the new space include: - Large, open lounge area for students to gather
- More organized and efficient use of professional staff offices
- Larger student staff and graduate assistant offices
- Environmentally-friendly building materials and a locally-designed entryway mural
- More windows and a great view of the quad!
