Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Activities
Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week activities are designed to inform and educate the Loyola community about people who are materially poor, hungry and/or homeless, as well as to offer opportunities for involvement with people experiencing these situations. Members of the Loyola Community are invited to plan and facilitate the individual events. Activities/events from past years have included: special service and advocacy opportunities, canned food drives, panel discussions, prayer services and a candlelight vigil, Hunger Banquet and a Sleep Out. Planning meetings begin in early September. Each year, CCSJ sponsors a Meet & Eat program through which members of our partner agencies visit the campus during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.
