Hunger and Homelessness Awareness
It is our social responsibility not only as human beings, but also as members of a Jesuit University, to be aware of what our brothers and sisters are going through every day. Therefore, the Center for Community Service and Justice (CCSJ) invites any student, faculty, staff or administrator who is interested in learning more about the world around them and who wants to gain a more global perspective to join us for this year's City-wide Sleep Out, a part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. The goal of this event is to raise awareness and create solidarity with those who are hungry and homeless by sleeping out on the steps of City Hall and advocating for legislation affecting people experiencing homelessness to be changed. - The preparation session will be on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. in the CCSJ Common Space (Humanities 142).
- The Sleep Out will begin at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 19, 2011 and will end at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, November 20, 2011
Free. Registration for this event is closed. If you have any questions or feedback, please email hunger@loyola.edu. Back to Social Justice Educational Program |
