| Loyola’s technological environment is current and full-featured. Technology Services is continuously working to make available the latest in hardware and software to the academic community. The Student Technology Center is responsible for student interaction with Loyola's technology. For more information, visit their Web site. Loyola ranked 12th most wired college in the U.S. by The Princeton Review and PC Magazine! 100% Wireless Campus Loyola offers wireless internet access throughout the entire campus. Wireless internet operates at speeds up to 54Mbps, comparable to that of traditional wired networks. Computer Labs and Cyber Cafes The Evergreen Campus has multiple computer labs located throughout the residence halls and in all major campus academic buildings. Most of the labs are available via key card access on a 24/7 basis to students and all of them have access to the Internet, to the campus e-mail system (GroupWise), to Microsoft Office, and printer stations. In addition, there is also a cyber café located in the Andrew White Student Center. Student Technology The Loyola Online Technology Suite (LOTS) consists of three applications. Every student has an account created automatically upon enrolling, and one username is the same for all three components. - My Loyola
My Loyola, powered by the Blackboard software system, provides everything you need for online academic communication. Professors using Blackboard make available to class members announcements, contact information, online assignments, course content (text and multimedia) and external links. Students may maintain personal calendars, task lists and address books at My Loyola as well. - GroupWise E-mail
All members of the Loyola community are issued a loyola.edu e-mail address through the GroupWise software system. On campus, e-mail can be accessed through the GroupWise client program installed on individual computers or through other e-mail programs such as Outlook. In addition, the Loyola University Maryland Web site permits GroupWise web access from any location. GroupWise features an address book, a personal calendar, instant messaging, task lists, e-mail distribution lists and message receipt notification. Loyola uses GWGuardian to intercept and quarantine viruses and potential spam. - WebAdvisor
WebAdvisor allows students to securely access University information and services using a web browser. Student functions available on WebAdvisor include: registering for courses, viewing class schedules, viewing grades, paying Loyola accounts via credit card, determining Evergreen account status and viewing financial aid information.
