Technology
At Loyola, technology is serious business. Our campus offers 100% wireless connectivity and we were recently ranked the 12th most wired college in the U.S. by The Princeton Review and PC Magazine.
When you come to Loyola, you will be given one username and password that will give you access to four major applications:
- Inside Loyola
Through Inside Loyola, the University's internal website, you can find out everything that's happening on campus and you'll have access to all of Loyola's various department websites (such as student activities, the bookstore, academic advising, etc.). It also gives you quick and convenient access to your email, WebAdvisor to check your grades and to register for classes, important announcements, and weekly pictures from around campus. It's a one-stop shop!
- Moodle
Professors often use Moodle to post material that supplements their classes, such as announcements, contact information, online assignments, course content (text and multimedia), and external links.
- Email (Live@Edu)
Email is one of the official methods Loyola will use to communicate with you. Through your email, you can maintain calendars and address books – and even synch it with your phone, keeping you mobile and in touch. Plus, you get to keep your email account for the rest of your life!
- WebAdvisor
WebAdvisor allows you to securely register for courses, view your grades and class schedules, put money on your Loyola accounts, determine your Evergreen account status, and view financial aid information.
Computer Labs and Printing
Loyola's campus has multiple computer labs throughout the residence halls and in all major academic buildings. Most of the labs are available via key card access on a 24/7 basis. Each lab supports wireless connectivity, including mobile print software that allows you to send a print job from anywhere (on or off campus) to a printer at any Loyola campus for pickup. There are also multiple cyber cafes on campus where you can access the Internet and email.
Tech Support
Loyola's Student Technology Center (STC) provides face-to-face support for any kind of technology you may use as part of your educational experience at Loyola. Whether you use a PC or a Mac, Loyola will support your needs as a member of our community. The STC performs repairs of systems, installations, and even has relationships with Apple and Lenovo through which you can purchase technology.
